Congratulations to Bobga Gang on winning the Best Pitch award at the BIOE REU poster fair! Bobga spent this summer with us an NSF REU summer intern. He developed a high throughput screening tool to identify effective nanoparticle drug delivery strategies for pulmonary disease applications.
We recently posted a pre-print covering our work on shape-dependent nanoparticle diffusion through biological barriers, read more here: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.07.21.453209v1.
Congratulations to Logan on her selection to the NIH/NIAID Host-Pathogen Interactions (HPI) T32 training grant! This fellowship will support her work on the diffusion of respiratory viruses through the mucus barrier to infection in collaboration with Prof. Margaret Scull's lab.
Congratulations to Yahya on passing the research aptitude exam, well done!
Congratulations to Devorah on receiving a graduate research fellowship through the UMD-NCI Partnership for Integrative Cancer Research! Her award will support new collaborative research with Dr. Matthew Wolf at NCI to characterize the transport properties of nanoparticles within engineered models of the tumor microenvironment.
Undergraduate researcher Sagar Matharu has received an ASPIRE scholarship award to pursue research over the summer on designing inhaled nanomedicine for ARDS. Congratulations Sagar and thank you to MTech for the support!
